Shelter: The provision of security and safety
People moving to the urban areas from the countryside looking for work and safety are forced to take shelter wherever it may be found; however difficult and unsuitable. Hand built from porcelain, fired, glazed and fired again several times.
People having nowhere to shelter or store possessions consider any possibility. Many families today are living in shipping containers or storage facilities without amenities.
Hand built from porcelain, with iron wire, fired, glazed and fired again several times.
These small scale sculptural pieces came about in response to the desperate situation of migrants and refugees. Proceeds from sales of the pieces go to our local Afghan refugee families.
